Obama's State of the Union: American Failure
President Obama said on Saturday that his State of the Union speech will focus on economic fairness for the middle class. After listening to him Tuesday, that was entirely right. But there's always a catch when economic fairness is mentioned. From listening to his speech you'd think that America's economic problems are as simple as the afternoon your mom accidentally gave your brother a bigger brownie and you whined until she fixed it. Putting it in that frame of reference makes Mitt Romney's millions seem terribly unfair

GOP Debate in South Carolina - First thoughts
Rick Santorum probably did the most for his campaign in last night's CNN Republican Debate in South Carolina. His main point was that he is the candidate that has a proven Conservative record and is consistent enough to draw a clear distinction between himself and Obama. He was forceful and articulate when he explained his positions and policies.

Big government hurts the little guy again
In order to for New York City taxi drivers to operate legally, the drivers of the iconic yellow taxis must have a medallion issued by the city’s Taxi and Limousine Commission—the going rate for one is a cool $750,000. That's more money than the combined debt loads of a legal and dental student in New York. That would cover more than 1,500 permits to have a microbrewery in the same city. What's the deal with the insane cost just to be permitted to operate a legal taxi?
